View Full Version : support for large contact lists
I've been using Plaxo with Outlook Express since the beginning of the past year, but the last week i've changed to Outlook 2000. The problem that i've encounter is that Outlook 2000 freezes all the time with Plaxo. Viewing some topics in this forum, i think that's a problem with large contact lists. I've 8240 contacts and i can't erase any of it. Outlook Express doesn't freeze with that quantity of contacts, so i need to find out how to solve this bug with Outlook 2000. Now i've uninstalled Plaxo, but i need it installed again. Thanks!
Plaxo manages contacts based on folders. Try to keep the number of contacts per a folder to under 5K.
I'd also like to mention that Plaxo was designed for personal usage and the large percentage of members have address books well under 5K. This is the number of entries that we typically do validation testing against. That's not to say a member couldn't have more than 5K entries in their address book, but your mileage will vary. But I would caution that if someone has more than 10K entries in their address book, the user may hit up against some system limitations built into Outlook as well as within the Plaxo service. Plaxo therefore may not be an appropriate solution for users with extremely large address books.
Also, regardless of address book size, all members should abide by proper Plaxo Etiquette (http://www.plaxo.com/privacy/manners)
