What is the difference between slow sync and fast sync under the sync preferences?

Good question.
This comes from SyncML, which we borrow heavily from.
A 'Slow' sync sends up your entire address book to the server and the server does a complete merge in order to complete the sync. This takes the longest and requires much more 'work' on the server side.
A 'Fast' sync sends up just the items that changed from your last address book sync.
It is generally much faster and requires significantly less 'work' on the server side.
This is also kind of similar to what the old Palm handhelds used to do for their sync.
