Thank you for the Thunderbird toolbar. It's a great tool and finally enables me to close the gap between my working environment (Windows/Outlook) and my home environment (Linux/Thunderbird)!
I have synced my already existig account with the Thunderbird toolbar last evening. When I synced this morning with the Outlook variant at work, all german umlauts in my contacts were gone...

Sorry about the umlauts. Can you tell me what OS's you are using?
What is the language and locale settings for those machines?
We know of an encodings issue and intend to fix that also with the next release.

Syncing names with Umlauts and other special signs, like:
René Smeets
Erik Bruëns
Joseph Wöss
cause UNCONVERTABLE items in my Thunderbird address book after synchronization. Used Windows XP language setting is Dutch

Also Portuguese names show up as strange (? white on black) in plaxo online, and are removed in outlook after syncing with thunderbird on windows XP
