View Full Version : Email addresses - handling blanks and duplicates

I mentioned part of this issue in a post with multiple observances I saw. I wanted to clarify more.

1. I update a contact online at plaxo.com and ONLY have their email address listed in the personal tab. In thisi example the "Business Information" tab contains only the contacts name. When I sync my address book in TB the contact updates, but their "email" field is blank and only an "additional email" is provided. I am expecting it to put the email address from the Personal Information tab at Plaxo online into the email field since it is the only email address for that contact.

2. When a contact has the same exact email address as both their personal and business email addresses the contact will have the email address listed for both the "email" field and the "additional email" field. I first thought this was a case-sensative issue, but it will also do it for same exact case strings.

It seems that there is no comparisons done with the email strings. Is this working as designed or something that will change as Plaxo for TB evolves?

This should be addressed in the new client and server release. The new client uses a new format that causes the new server code to be used. Please try the new 1.61 version.
