I am a happy Outlook 2003 with Plaxo user.
Am very happy to see the development of a Thunderbird port.
It brings in my Mac OS X platform to the sync.
Sadly the extension causes a build up of multiple entries.
On windows only I sync'd Thunderbird to a 581 contact collection and it generated 48 more, this was after completely clearing thunderbird contacts and resetting the 1.6.2 extension setting. Thanks for the outlook plaxo system i refused the 48 new entires and from the syncronisation manager deleted the unwanted 48 from the plaxo server.
I think it is to do with long Company names and the way outlook makes 'The Company Name' into 'Company Name, The', whatever it is I'm gonna have to stop trying Thunderbird Plaxo til this is cleared up.
Also the extension doesnt have a functioning 'option' panel, a panel top bar appears only.
I would strongly suggest a sync one way option/capability, at least at this stage to be able to get plaxo contacts into thunderbird, but not for thunderbird to put its duplicates up to plaxo.
