View Full Version : New AIM Field - where does it go?

September 28th, 2005, 04:43 AM
Hello there.

I was just wondering where the AIM field goes in Outlook now you have it seperate from the generic IM field. Using MS Outlook 2002, the IM field from Plaxo populates the corresponding IM field in Outlook nicely. Now you've added AIM support (great btw) and have a seperate field, it doesn't seem to populate anywhere in Outlook (have looked at all fields and can't find the data.

On a similar vein, when exporting a group VCF card so I can import my contacts to my Mac address book, it also looses the new AIM field (the generic IM one again remains).

Any help would be appreciated.

cheers

Hi Matt, and welcome to the Plaxo Forum,

Alas, there's no Outlook field equivalent for AOL Screen Name, and for this and other reasons we've decided to not integrate this data into the regular Outlook file data structure. This accounts for your inability to see it in an exported VCF file or spot it in standard fields within Outlook at this time.

When the new version of our Plaxo Outlook client is available, you WILL see this data prominently displayed in contact detail pages... along with other neat stuff such as an AIM icon on friends' e-mail showing when they're online.

Hope this answers your question, Matt, and take care...
