View Full Version : Where can I register an old e-mail address ?

October 4th, 2005, 07:44 AM
Hello,

Following the steps on the help pages, I can't get to the "Register an old e-mail address." page. (Looking on "My Account" page, there is no such item called "Register an old e-mail address." as mentioned on the help pages.)

I would like to add an obsolete e-mail of mine that I forgot during the setup process. How do I do it?

Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem, and figured it out myself. The answer is in the FAQ, but there is a step missing. I pointed it out to Plaxo and they thanked me and said that the FAQ would be updated soon. The following steps are an amalgam of the text that I found in the FAQ and my edits and additions.

Here's how to get reconnected via Plaxo's "Old E-mail" feature:

1. Sign in to Plaxo.
2. Click on the "My Account" link in the upper righthand side of the
screen [not sure if this step is needed, but it won't hurt to do it]
3. Click on "My Cards" from the blue menu bar near the top of the page
4. You'll see the following in text in a yellow/tan box above your Personal Card:

Get more from your Plaxo Cards:
- Order printed business cards.
- Send your information to your contacts.
- Register old e-mail addresses for lost contacts.
- Link to your Plaxo Cards from your Web site.

5. Click on the blue word "Register" (not here in the forum, but in Plaxo)
6. Enter your old e-mail addresses. Don't forget addresses from your
school days, addresses from former jobs, and also address variations
(mary.smith@example.com and msmith@example.com) as appropriate!
