View Full Version : plaxo is 7% up-to-date???
October 10th, 2005, 06:40 PM
When it says my address book is 7% up-to-date what time frame is this based on? last week it was 23% up-to-date so I'm thinking maybe it considers everything over 2 weeks old to need updating again. and is it possible to change this time frame to 120 days.
Thanks,
Chris

Hai,
It means that only 7% of your contacts have replied to your Update Request sent to them by you.
If suppose you sent Update Request to 100 contacts and only 7 of them replied to your request, then Plaxo will indicate that 7% up-to-date....
Hope this answered your question... /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Devaraj,
I think the OP can do the math.
The OP is saying that it was 23% last week and has dropped to 7% this week.
Is it possible that you clicked on the button to update your contacts again?

Actually, I don't believe there is any time limit. The calculation is based upon the following formula:
The # of other Plaxo members you are connected to +
The number of contacts who have responded to your update request (ie: up to date contacts))
/ the total number of contacts you have in all folders.
If you want to do your own quick calculation, you can go to the Sharing view, sort by Status and do a rough count of each type.

Another possibility for the sudden reduction in percentage:
If you added a lot of new contacts it would skew the calculation. Also, if you accidentally had Plaxo create a new or backup folder of your contacts in Outlook, you will now have many more contacts than you think. Lots of duplicates, but the calculation won't consider that.
This happened to me back in the summer when I first installed Plaxo. I synched Plaxo with Outlook on my desktop PC, and then I synched it again with Outlook on my notebook PC. I was trying to just keep my contacts perfectly synched on my two PCs, but Plaxo Online, after creating a new online folder for my notebook contacts, then created that same folder (of my notebook contacts) on my desktop PC, thus almost doubling the number of contacts on my desktop PC.
