View Full Version : Plaxo stopped working...

November 11th, 2005, 09:05 AM
Help! I have been using Plaxo w/Outlook and then Plaxo w/Thunderbird since the extension was released. Everything has been working fine, until yesterday. I was having a problem uninstalling a different Thunderbird extension, and decided to uninstall Thuderbird and then reinstall. After re-installing the Plaxo extension, when I try to synch, I get a dialog box that appears for a second or so that says "Creating Guid..." with a status bar below it. The dialog box only appears for a second, then goes away. I get the same dialog box when I press the "My Plaxo" button. Any ideas how to get Plaxo going again?

Thanks,

Terry

I have the same problem, Plaxo sync suddenly stopped working. TB version 1.5 (20051201), Plaxo 1.64. I haven't found any solution to this.

I've found solution to my problem! I changed proxy settings in Thunderbird from "Auto-detect" to manual. TB works with both settings, but not Plaxo. Weird?

Are you using your AOL screen name for your plaxo login? If so, that is the problem. Plaxo for Thunderbird only works if your login is your email address.

I don't use a proxy, so, I don't know what to do. Any clue?:rolleyes:

I am not a Thunderbird expert, but let's give this a try.

1. Launch Thunderbird.
2. Click on Tools->options.
3. Click on 'Connection Settings..' under general tab.
4. Select 'Automatic proxy configuration URL'.
5. Type 'http://proxy/file.pac' in label box.
6. Click on 'OK'.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if this helps.
