View Full Version : View contacts in plaxo online by firstname?
November 20th, 2005, 10:23 AM
I'm sorry if I'm lost here, but I really can't figure out how to view my contacts in plaxo online listed by firstname (instead of lastname).
I would believe this is a basic feature, but can't find it..
When I want to lookup my contacts, I logically think of (and remember) their firstname, not their lastname.. Am I weired?
Thanks for helping out:)

Plaxo by default shows the contacts with thier Last name/firstname. However, there is an option to go ahead and change the name as first name/last name, for that you need to follow the below given steps:
1. Log on to your Plaxo online account
2. Click on "Contacts"
3. Click on the "Grid" option
4. On the top of your list Click on the "Name - sort by first | last"
You can change the name accordingly by first or last name.

Thanks /images/graemlins/smile.gif But still this is just a temporary set, and still goes back to the default lastname view at once I navigate to the other views. No plans to implement an option for the user to set first name as default?

Carl,
Are you synching Plaxo Online with Outlook?
If so, and if you have the Outlook "FileAs" default sort set to "LastFirst", then every time Plaxo Online synchs with Outlook on your PC it will change back to the Outlook default.

I sync with Thunderbird. In TB adressbook the names are shown by FirstLast (and this is the way I want to seem them in plaxo online aswell).
