View Full Version : Feature Request: Calendar Duplicates Removal

My vote for a future enhancement is to extend the Address Duplicates Remover to also clean-up Calendar Duplicates.

As I am synching Outlook (Desktop PC)-->Outlook (Notebook)-->Pocket PC-->Plaxo, I always end up with Birthday and Anniversray duplicates all over the place - regardless of the care I take. I don't think there is a way to avoid these duplicates altogether when synching this many different devices.

All of the Birthday and Anniversary events are automatically created by Outlook as Calendar entries based on those fields in Outlook Contacts, if you choose to have Outlook do that.

Synching multiple devices for quite some time now has conditioned me to become accustomed to just sitting down and manually finding and deleting these duplicates regularly.

If Plaxo could do this routinely, I would be forever grateful! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Little Known Feature Alert: The Plaxo Toolbar for Outlook does have a Remove Birthday Duplicates feature.

Look under the Plaxo / Help menu. But I agree there is more that could be done here.

Cool! At least for the Birthdays.

(We really need docs, guys!)

I have one continual issue with Birthday duplicates that keep appearing in Outlook. I suspect that Plaxo still doesnt manage time zones correctly and for those people living outside of the US (like me), the system gets confused between US time and Outlook's native time.

Basically I can save someone's birthday, but once it has been synched a couple of times with Plaxo, I end up with two entries. One for the day itself, one that spans a couple of days. This to me is a bug and related to timezones, so I dont feel the necessity to pay for Premium Services just to help alleviate a bug introduced on the Plaxo side.
