View Full Version : Update, and some things to improve
December 22nd, 2005, 11:07 AM
Hi, i'm an more or less new plaxo user. I more or less like it. But i think there are some things that could be changed/improved. For example, if i have user A in my address book, and he has a plaxo account, shouldn't it be automatically sincronized with my address book? What does "Sent a Plaxo Card" means? when i have this user in my account, and he has me? Also, quickconnect should not append a "Hello" at the top, cause i write in spanish, and it should remember the text i have customized. Last, i should be able to send quickconnects to many people at once.
Edit: i come from RINGO, which is simpler, but plaxo looks better.
Edit2:
why is that i have 3 diferent status for users that USE plaxo:
"You are now connected"
"Contact info updated"
"Sent a Plaxo Card"
all 3 from diferent users, but all USE plaxo.

another thing that should be changed, is that the interface should fit on the browsers window, i shouldn't need to scroll.

Ok, now i understand (my fault)
"Contact info updated", means they replied using plaxo, but they have no account right?
"You are now connected", means they are using plaxo (they have a plaxo account).
"Sent a Plaxo Card" this is the problem, cause when i look at them, it says, "Since you and XXXX are both Plaxo members, your address book will always contain Florencia’s latest info.", so, whats the diference between "Sent a Plaxo Card" and "You are now connected"? in both cases, we are all plaxo users.

Hai,
I have provided the information regarding your queries below:
"Sent a Plaxo Card":
This means that, you have sent your Plaxo Card for a contact who is in your addressbook in form of Update Request email. When this contact responds to the Update Request email, your addressbook will be updated automatically.
"You are now connected":
This means that, you have sent an Update Request email to a contact in your addressbook who is a Plaxo Member. Since he is a Plaxo Member you will be automatically connected to him and you'll have his latest updated information about him. So whenever he updates his information, your addressbook will be updated automatically.

Thanks Devaraj, problem is that when i click on the users with "Sent a Plaxo Card" status, it says:
Florencia has sent you a new Plaxo card
Plaxo has automatically updated your address book with this info.
and
Plaxo has already done the work for you
Since you and Florencia are both Plaxo members, your address book will always contain Florencia’s latest info.
and
Return the favor
Florencia currently has permission to view your work and home info. Choose what info you want to share: [SHARING OPTIONS BUTTON]
So, if we are both plaxo users, shouldnt it say "You are now connected" instead of "Sent a Plaxo Card"?

Hai,
I hope that the explanation below may answer your question.
Suppose if any one of a Plaxo member, who is not in your addressbook sends you(Plaxo member) an Update Request, Plaxo will automatically connect you both and you'll recieve an alert from Plaxo saying that "You are now Connected". If both are connected, there's no need to send Update Request once again to each other. Because Plaxo will automatically update both of your addressbook with the latest information.
In your situation, you already have the information about that contact in your addressbook. So when that contact sends you an Update Request once again, Plaxo will send you an alert saying that "xxxxx has sent you a Plaxo Card". You can also set the Sharing Options for that contact using this alert.
So the main difference here is, whether you have that contact in your addressbook or not.
