Beta 2 - First impresions ...

Hi there,
I'm one of those who asked for Plaxo4Mac since the beginning because Plaxo is definitively a "must-have" app. in my opinion.
About this beta, visually it's a good job, the new integration inside Address Book is much better than the first beta.
The sync seems to work fine but of course I hope the ical integration for events and tasks can be done soon, but I can be patient.
The only strange thing I've detected so far on my Ibook g3 (900 Mhz -640 Mg) with OS X 10.4.5, is that the Address Book is much slower and less responsive since Plaxo beta is installed. It may be consuming too much CPU, I don't know ...

I'm impressed with Beta 2 so far!

Quick question - is there a way to have photos that exist within Plaxo synced and added to the Mac OS X Address Book? I can view the photos, but they haven't actually been entered into my copy of the address book. Thanks.

I am thrilled to have this... As a convert back to Mac about a year ago, I sorely missed Plaxo - which I think is a great product with brilliant implementation. I have been using the first beta for over a month and it seems very stable. I have over 2000 contacts and haven't had any real problems. I just installed the new beta.

Quick question - is the local sidebar (premissions/history/info) working yet? or is it just there as a placeholder?

Keep up the good work - I look forward to iCal integration. I will continue to recruit and praise Plaxo.

Regarding the Photo availability in Address Book, Plaxo for Mac does copy down any available (and permissioned) Work or Home Card photo to the Plaxo dock within Address Book. If you can see personalized photos on Plaxo Online but not within the Plaxo dock, that would be bug - please report this. If you can see personalized photos within the Plaxo dock but not in Address Book, this likely means that your contact has made only a Work Card photo available. Currently, only Home Card photos will display within the standard contact area of the Apple Address Book.

On my Mac Mini (1.25Ghz, 1GB Ram) i see no significant performance loss. I LOVE THIS APPLICATION as i can now sync my addressbook between the office (Outlook 2003) and home (Adress.app). Thanks for the great work Plaxo!

Can you confirm if Photos from AB are synchronised to Plaxo? It doesn't appear to function for me. I can confirm that photos in Plaxo appear in the Plaxo dock (both Work and Home) and only Home photos are synced to ABl.

We do not currently support setting customized photos for your contacts on Plaxo Online and therefore any custom photos you've specified for your contacts are not synchronized with your Plaxo Online Address Book.

Today i was informed about an Update. Did the update to Build 154 without any problems /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Also a Mac convert from last year. My only regret -- No Plaxo. I was thrilled last night when I discovered the Plaxo module for Mac. I'm sure there are only bigger and better things to come! With the momentum Apple is building in the marketplace, this is perfect timing for Plaxo.
