Hello,

I just wanted to inform you of 2 bugs our company has found with the widgets.

1) When you press next after selecting contacts, we get a dialog in IE that says:
Security Information
This page contains both secure and nonsecure items.
Do you want to display the nonsecure items?

The reason why this warning shows up is when you are on a HTTPS page and you have anything on the page addresss to a normnal HTTP address, you get that error. For example if you navigate to a HTTPS page with images addressed to HTTP://plaxo.com/images/logo.gif. To fix the problem, all the links in the HTML must be HTTPS.

2) On Safari 1.3 on Mac if the input type of the email form is not textarea, it doesn't work. If it is textarea, it works, if it is input type=text it doesn't. On firefox and IE it works with both. We would like the option to have the input be type=text on safari.

We please hope that you fix these problems.

Thank you very much,
Ryan

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for the feedback.

The first is not a bug. Yeah, it's not the best user experience, but it is the message you get when a site using HTTPS connects with a site using HTTP. It is on our roadmap to provide an HTTPS version.

I'll send both of your reports along to engineering.

And when you get the widget in production, send me a message, and we'll put your logo in the gallery.

Best,

Kathy

Oic. There probably is a way to code around it. Perhaps going from https to http, then set the email input field, then switch back to https. Anyways, could you please relook at fixing that problem.

Your widget is now in production at www.dropshots.com
here is our logo:

Thanks,

Oh, also is there any way we can pay for a private label version of our tool? Without any plaxo branding? And pay a monthly or set fee?

Just wondering,
Ryan

Hey Ryan -

Congrats on getting the widget up! Do me a favor and send a message to partners at plaxo dot com with your question on private label, as well as logo and a 20-25 word blurb and the link you want us to point to for use in the Featured Application Gallery. Check out the other ones as examples on: http://www.plaxo.com/api/gallery.

Best,

Kathy
