I have been using Plaxo on Outlook (on multiple computers for a long time). I recently began using a Mac also and added Plaxo a few days ago.
I started with an empty address book on the Mac and Plaxo did a great job of bringing in most of the info.
But I have started to notice that I was missing mobile phone numbers for many of my contacts.
When I check in the change history for those people it says "Removed Mobile (Business)". If I manually add their number back and indicate it as a mobile on the mac the sync history then says "Added Mobile (Personal).
Mobile numbers in Outlook were not added with a special tag, just the standard one that says "Mobile".
I did notice that this seems to only have happened when the person had a few phone numbers in their entry.
I am running build 167.
I made a backup PST with all my contacts before installing Plaxo for the Mac so I can reload those if I can figureout how to make Plaxo not do this all over again.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,

Plaxo for Outlook currently can only store one mobile phone number while ,as you may have observed, Plaxo Online has separate entries for work and home mobile numbers. Since Apple's Address Book is extensible, it also can accomodate multiple mobile phone entries though for Plaxo for Mac to sync correctly, only one phone entry must be labeled 'mobile' and 'work mobile'.
You mentioned that your contacts had multiple phone entries; did they have multiple mobile phone entries or was it typically just one mobile number along with standard phone/fax numbers?
Did you happen to change the labels of your contact's mobile phone entries on the Mac?

Typically my contacts only have one mobile phone number. I don't beleive I changed any of the labels but its possible I did that without knowing before importanting the data.
Is there a particlular lable I should be sure in on the address card templates before importing again?
Thanks!

The template used in Address Book will not negatively affect Plaxo for Mac's sync capability. It is used only in cases where you manually add a new entry yourself via Address Book.
If you didn't modify the phone labels _after_ Plaxo for Mac synched then that can be eliminated as a possible cause for your disappearing phone numbers.
If you still have Plaxo for Mac installed, it would be useful if you could send me your PlaxoAssistant.log file (found in ~/Library/Logs/Plaxo/) to see if it reveals what happened.

I am having the same issue. My users only have 1 mobile number but they come up in Address book on the mac with "work mobile". I wouldn't mind so much but when I want to sync this with my Razr, it doesn't sync a "work mobile" only formal "mobile" numbers. Hence, big problem. Can you help?
Thanks!

I solved mine by deleting the address book and re-syncing or some similar procediure. Problem never came back.

I'm having the same problem. A mobile number is stored in the field which in a vcard looks like this: TEL;type=CELL.
Plaxo appears to sync this number to the private mobile, whereas the work cellular number is stored like this:
item1.TEL:012/345678
item1.X-ABLabel:work mobile
This is actually quite an issue, cause this field does not get synched to my mobile.
On the other hand, most people which I had plaxoed, entered their mobile number in the work mobile field. So to use it I have to manually copy the number to the normal mobile number field in Apple addressbook.
It were much better, that if a contact has only one mobile number, that it would get synced to the default mobile number field of Apple addressbook.
