Plaxo in Outlook Express under Windows XP x64

Is Plaxo compatible with Outlook Express (OE) under Windows XP x64? It does not show an error installing, but no toolbar ever appears in Outlook Express.

I tried running the the 64-bit OE (Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe) as well as the 32-bit OE (\Program Files (x86)\Outlook Express\msimn.exe), but I saw no toolbar.

I also have Outlook 2007 Beta 2 installed and Plaxo is working within that with no apparent problems. Except that Outlooks address book apparently does not handle subfolders... doh, that's why I don't use Outlook. But, I tried Plaxo with OE before installing Office 2007 Beta 2, so I am relatively certain that it is not preventing Plaxo from running in OE.

There must be other people struggling with this...

I'm sure it is related, so I should probably mention that the exact same problem occurs under Windows Vista 64-Bit Beta (though Outlook Express is now called Windows Mail or something).

Any help would be greatly appreciated even if it is complicated! :)

Hi I have the same problem but using win98se and outlook express, always I user the plaxo toolbar with it but now it doesn't appear.

Hi, Windows 98, ME, and NT4 are no longer supported by our newest versions of the Outlook/OE toolbar. However, you can install an older version at: http://down.plaxo.com/down/release-2.8.1.2/PlaxoInstall9X.exe.

Regarding Windows XP x64, I'm trying to get more information on what our status is there, but I don't believe this is an officially supported platform at the moment.

What about Windows Vista (32 bit), the now released replacement to Windows XP???

Plaxo does not work properly with Vista+Outlook 2003.

I now need this too. I just got moved to a Windows XP 64-bit machine at work. It works OK with Outlook 2007 but on OE, nothing.

Can anyone from Plaxo respond to this?

Sorry, the Plaxo Toolbar on Outlook and Outlook Express is not supported on Windows XP 64.

Well like I said, it works fine on Outlook 2007, so either you or Microsoft got something right. :D

I'll just muddle through then. I'm still more than thoroughly tickled with Plaxo, which I just discovered a few weeks ago - keeping all my stuff in sync between multiple PCs is a real godsend.
