I just massively updated contacts, but it is not recognizing that I merged duplicates (with a 3rd party tool), and deleted hundreds of contacts. I sync, and it doesn't upload my changes!

How do I force a sync?

This is a bit of a problem, because the reason I had all those duplicates is because I de-duplicated before, and the other computers running plaxo (3 others) over-rode my duplications I think, because I came back monday and everything had at least one, and up to three or four, duplicates.

If there's no way to force a sync, is there a way to flush plaxo online without having that deletion delete all of my contacts in outlook when I sync again?

I agree. This is a problem. I have a similar issue.

I sync with ACT then to Plaxo. I also maintain contacts on differnent machines.

I have not tried this yet, but I plan to do the following:

1. Make sure all contacts are correct in ACT or 3rd party
2. Delete all contacts on Web Plaxo account
3. Sync ACT to Outlook
4. Sync refreshed Outlook to Plaxo account.

Basically, starting over.

If you want to "flush" Plaxo Online and make sure it doesn't delete things from your Outlook/OE, probably the easiest thing to do is first uninstall Plaxo from the "master" machine (and any other machine where you don't want things deleted), then delete your contacts on Plaxo Online, then reinstall Plaxo. When you reinstall it should then upload your contacts from your Outlook/OE installation.

Note that if you do this you'll lose some Plaxo state, like whether you've sent someone an update request, etc.
