Since your Apple Address Book should be empty once you reload OS X on it (with the exception of you and the Apple contact card) you should be able to just install Plaxo for Mac, setup your Plaxo account info and let it sync as normal. It should just bring down all of your contacts again and leave you with a (once again) synchronized address book.
