At work we use a proxy server to get to the internet. The way it's set up in IE is once we access an external site, we get a user/pw prompt, and those credentials are stored until we close down that instance of IE. How do I set up something similar with Plaxo?

The toolbar should use the Internet settings configured for your system. In other words, if your Internet settings is configured to use a proxy server, then Plaxo will use these proxy server settings when attempting to establish an outbound connection.
On the other hand, its possible your network administrator has configured your network where all outbound HTTP traffic is routed through a proxy, without using local settings. The session is likely cookie based, in which case, you may be stuck since Plaxo is unable to be respond to the authentication request from the proxy. You'll have to speak to your network administrator about configuring a workaround, such as allowing Plaxo traffic to pass through.

I've been battling with this issue for a few weeks now, and finaly got it to work.
We have a http proxy server that all traffic is automatically routed through (with or without the browser being configured to use it)... thus my browser settings were not configured for a proxy server, and subsequently, Plaxo was unaware of the proxy server.
Plug in the proxy server name or ipaddress in your IE proxy configuration, and if your situation is similiar to mine, you will be up and running.
