Whenever I click on the "My Plaxo" button within Outlook 2003 I receive an "Internet Explorer Script Error" message box. I recently updated IE6 to the IE7 RC and assume there is an incompatibility with it?
How can I resolve? Is there an upgrade to Plaxo in order to overcome this bug...assuming the conflict with IE7 is the issue?
Thanks...

IE 7 is not currently supported, so there's no update available yet for this. However, you can most likely ignore this error. However, we hope to have support for this version in the near future.

I reverted back to IE6 and the script error persists. Please advise how to eliminate. If you need additional information about the error message I would be happy to provide.
Thanks.

Hmm, sounds like IE 7 may not have uninstalled completely, but you can try emailing support at plaxo.com and they can take a look at this issue.

After nearly a week of emails back and forth with Plaxo "tech support" and executing all of their suggested fixes, the problem persists. :(

Found the following in another support forum:
"These script errors can happen if some script engine components are not registered correctly. Run this tool to register them:
http://download.mcafee.m7z.net/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/IERegFix.bat
Download the file to your desktop and then double click to run it."
Probably related to installing IE7 and then uninstalling/reinstalling IE6. Plaxo may think I am still running IE7. If this hypothesis is correct, when Plaxo is updated to run with IE7, the script engine component (as referenced above) should get registered correctly. Just a theory, but probably much closer than the generic drivel suggested by Plaxo "tech support".
It would be nice if Plaxo released a batch file (like the McAfee one noted above) that could reregister things correctly... just a thought.

Hi,
I would like to suggest u something...:)
It is a bit complicated, I think that Plaxo files in your computer's registry are not identyfying the changes.. that u have made with your IE...
please try this and let me know if it works...
go to the run command on your computer...path>>>
1. click on start from the desktop and click on run
2. type in regedit
this will pop-up a window and u will have the following:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
HKEY_USERS
HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG
here, select current user and local user respectively and check for PLAXO under softawre and then just delete it (MAKE SURE THAT BEFORE YOU DELETE YOU UNINSTALL PLAXO FROM YOUR COMPUTER)
after u are done with the uninstall, use the regedit option and then try installing PLAXO and see it it works...
the regedit option will help you clean PLAXO from your computer and the installation will be as fresh as of u were installing it for the frst time....
hope it works...:)
keep me updated@!

Note that if you uninstall Plaxo, it should remove the Plaxo reg key under Software, so there should be no need to go into regedit. However, Plaxo does not do any special registration for IE, so I doubt that this will fix whatever issue the previous poster was experiencing.

The issue is still being experienced and is clearly presented in earlier posts.
I appreciate the input in this forum, however... the level of expertise here is much greater than the "tech support" rep with whom I was interacting.
