One-way (one-directional) synchronizing?

Is there a way to have plaxo synchronize in one direction? (e.g. work pc to web, and web to home pc).

There's not really a straightforward way to do this, though we are looking into adding this in a future version.

The easiest way to do this is probably to first uninstall Plaxo from all machines connected to that Plaxo account, backup your contacts and other info, then delete the contacts and other info from whatever you want the destination to be, then reinstall Plaxo and sync.

Please be sure to:
1) Back up your data first
2) Uninstall Plaxo before deleting items - otherwise it will synchronize the delete action

On the other hand, if you are basically just trying to avoid syncing your home PC information down to your work PC, you can use the Sync Manager.

Exactly! Thank you. Now where from the Sync Manager can I have my home PC recieve updates but NOT SEND them. (and my work PC to send updates but NOT RECIEVE them).

Assuming Plaxo is installed on both PCs...

Your work contacts will be sync'd to a folder in your Plaxo account. Let's call that folder: WORK_CONTACTS. Your home contacts will also be sync'd to a folder in your Plaxo account. Let's call that folder: HOME_CONTACTS.

So if you look on Plaxo Online, you'll see these two separate folders. Once the HOME_CONTACTS folder syncs up to Plaxo Online, your WORK computer will see this new folder and by default, attempt to sync it locally. You simply need to configure the Sync Manager on your Work computer to NOT sync the HOME_CONTACTS folder to your Work computer.

On your Work Computer:
- go to the Sync Manager (Plaxo / Tools / Sync Manager)
- Find the local folder that is linked to the HOME_CONTACTS folder.
- Unlink the folder.

This will configure your Work computer to not sync the HOME_CONTACTS folder down to your local system.
