The two buttons "Send eCard instead" and "Insert Signature" are extremely useless and therefore annoying. There seems to be way to hide/remove them permanently.

I just wanted to let you know that I am not willing to have these buttons there. If there really is no way to remove them, I will uninstall Plaxo (after several years of membership).

annoyed.

Sounds like you're referring to the Plaxo toolbar that shows up in a "New Mail" window. Outlook controls these toolbars (shows/hides). If you don't wish to see a toolbar shown, right click in the toolbar area, and uncheck the toolbar you don't wish to see.

I know how to disable the Plaxo menu, but now have a new and VERY annoying thing -- every time I start a new mail message in Outlook, Outlook tells me that a program is trying to access my mail services and do I want to grant it permission. The culprit is Plaxo, how do I get this to stop?!

What your seeing may be related to this thread: http://forums.plaxo.com/showthread.php?t=2639

May sure you are running the latest version of Plaxo 2.11.1.5 (currently) or try the other sugggestion in the thread.

Nah, this is a new feature and it's really annoying. I understand, you CAN'T turn it off.

This is truly a major gaff by Plaxo.

The suggestion to use toolbars is worthless; it comes on it again for every new email (Compose mail)

PLAXO - PLEASE GET RID OF THIS "FEATURE", or at the very least, turn it off.

brtech - are you sure you can't turn off the menu within a Compose Mail window? As mentioned above, Outlook controls whether or not these toolbar are displayed. You can configure Oulook to display/not display menus by right clicking in the menu area an unchecking the appropriate menu.

I don't display the Plaxo menu in a Compose Email window and it works for me. Are you saying this isn't working for you?

Just a little extra technical info - the state is saved when a compose-email window is closed. So first, have only one compose e-mail open, then right-click and uncheck the Plaxo toolbar item, then close that window. Now if you open a new e-mail, the Plaxo toolbar should not show, and should continue to stay hidden until explicitly re-checked.

Let us know if this still doesn't work...

I have been dealing with this recently as well, it just seems to have started recently.

I have done as suggested several times. Open one new compose window, disable the Plaxo toolbar and close the compose window. At this point if I open a new compose window the Plaxo toolbar is gone. However, a few minutes later I open a compose window and the Plaxo toolbar is back. I have replicated this several times.

This is very annoying

A bit of followup.

This appears to be a problem only with Outlook 2002 for me. I run Outlook 2002 on my office PC that is linked to Plaxo and cannot seem to get the buttons on emails to stay turned off. I run Outlook 2003 on my home PC linked to the same Plaxo account and do not have a problem with the buttons.

In case anyone is interested.
