Good Morning,

How do I get rid of the "phone buttons" that have begun appearing next to all my phone numbers? This is a service I can't use and the buttons are messing up my signature. I prefer that they just not be displayed, but don't know how to remove them.

Thanks,

Wade

uncheck Plaxo / Preferences / Advanced / Show Click to Call icons in Address Book

Hey, thanks!

I know that was simple, but you saved me a lot of time looking for that option.

I'm having the same problem with the phone icon in my email signature. I tried to follow the instructions from privacyguy but I think I missed something. What does the first instruction mean "uncheck Plaxo?"

PS-I figured it out, finally. What about the eCards symbol, which is also annoying?

This is a Plaxo preference. The path I provided was the pathway to the preference setting:

You get to it by:

- Clicking "Plaxo" on your top level menu
- Click Preferences
- Click Advanced
- Uncheck the box labelled "Show Click to Call icons in Address Book"

That said, "Click to call" is pretty handy, especially if you make a lot of long distance phone calls. It's a nice way to save money.

OK, I followed the above directions and got rid of the phone icons in my contacts list.

Now they are showing in my my Plaxo signature block. How do I get rid of them there? And is there a way to lock down that signature block so Plaxo cannot modify it again without my permission?

The appearance of your signature can be changed by using the Plaxo Email Signature tool: Plaxo / Tools / Email Signature.
