Why is it that a skype id can only be added to the work address book data and not to the private addressbook?

If you use the Other Work IM field on the Business card or the Home IM field on the Personal card, you can enter your skype address like:

plaxoDrew (skype)

Plaxo for Mac will correctly identify this as a skype IM address and will list it in the custom fields on the Plaxo dock within Address Book in a similar way that is done when you fill out the Skype ID field on the Business card.
