So many time people don't enter or format their address correctly. in the USA at least this information is available from the Post Office and I would LOVE the option of having Plaxo correct the address formats of my contacts and verify the addresses. It'd also be great if it could standardize phone formats and convert cute phone numbers with words back into numbers.

If you use Stamps.com, you can kludge this. Just open the Stamps.com software to the screen where you would enter an address to print an envelope. Click on the address book icon and open your Outlook address from WITHIN Stamps.com. Select all of the addresses (keep in mind that if you have 1000 addresses, you are signing up for a big job). Click OK. It will try and verify every address in your Outlook Contacts folder. But you will have to approve, edit or skip anything it can't work out. If you select the box telling it to save changes back to Outlook, it will update all of the address with the verified USPS address.

When it is all done, just close the program without printing any envelopes. The changes were all saved in Outlook and you can sync to have them on Plaxo or in your phone.

It will not, of course, do anything for phone numbers. Sorry.

I would gladly pay the premium service for address verication through plaxo. I think it would be a huge asset since you are dealing with CRM data.

I mail my customers once a month in which the address data is continually changing. I like to take advantage of the discount mailing through the USPS automation services, using a bar code, but the addresses need to be cleaned before I put the bar code on the envelope. I used to use contact zone by melissa data, but it is no longer available so I am looking for a flat rate fee system for address verification, which can directly sync with either Thunderbird, or outlook.

Brandon,

We are collecting ideas for possible new premium features. I'd like to understand you address verification needs. Would you mind sending me an e-mail with you contact info? My e-mail is peter at plaxo.com.

Thanks,
