Hi!
I just started using the plaxo toolbar and I had a nice out-of-the box experience .. good stuff. Everything worked smoothly and now i feel I'm definitely connected
Just one quick question: Is there an option to auto-terminate the plaxo toolbar upon exiting address book? It's annoying to have to terminate two apps at once and I really don't want to have the toolbar running all the time.
Cheers,
-Tony

Hi Tony,
At this point of time we do not have such an option as such but you could choose the do not show at startup option. This will prevent Plaxo from being automatically launching on starting your machine. However you will have to exit it everytime you shut addressbook down.

Tony-
Glad to hear that you had a good start using PfM!
As mentioned, there is no auto shutdown of the Plaxo menu item for a couple of reasons.
The first is that Plaxo for Mac will soon be able to synchronize more than your Contacts. Calendar sync is coming soon and we're hoping to add to the sync capabilities going forward. With this in mind, it doesn't make sense to quit what is essentially the Plaxo sync engine when you quit out of one of the supported applications.
But the second and more fundamental reason is that one of Plaxo's big benefits is that you don't have to think or do anything for your Plaxo contacts' info to be up to date and available to you. With the PfM menu item always running, you'll know that whenever you check or reference a contact in Address Book, that you'll have up-to-date information. This can best be represented when you use applications like Mail or iChat that connect directly to Address Book to get their information. If you quit the PfM application you'll be diminishing Plaxo's usefulness and you'll have to think more about your contact managment than you really need to. As a matter of fact, one fo the driving forces behind Plaxo's purpose to alleviate the need for you to 'manage' your contacts - it should just be effortless to you.
But, I imagine your concern is over resource use of your Mac. If you try the Apple provided Activity Monitor application (found in the Utilities folder) you will see that Plaxo for Mac uses little to no CPU time when it isn't syncronizing your data. The memory usage is also relatively small and is not active (not taking away from your useful memory) when Plaxo isn't synchronzing or preparing to synchronize. This is all to say that the impact on your Mac is minimal at best to have the program running all the time.
I'll add to the post from Kush to say that you can also choose to Hide the Plaxo menu item if you just don't like seeing it in the menu bar all the time. Just check the options in the Plaxo -> Configure window if you'd like to toggle this option.
