Popop blocker engaging when launching widget from Flash

We would like to launch the Address Book widget from a link in our Flash application. The problem is that the new window gets caught by most popup blockers when opened this way.
In order to get around this limitation the behaviour of the widget would need to be modified so that a new popup window is not generated.

Do you have any suggestions?

Sorry, no good ideas at the moment. We tried making an iframe version of the widget, but we ran into some hard technical problems and had to give up.

Could you have your Flash app / Actionscript call a button on the parent HTML page that launches the popup?

thanks for the responses. Most popup blockers do engage when the button is invoked from anything besides a user mouse or key click.

Thats to bad about the iframe version. I'll keep checking back.

Hey,

I managed to open the plaxo popup widget from flash and write back the addresses to the flash application. Did it on localhost and didnt get any popup block notification in firefox.my popup blocker is always on in firefox.

But has anyone managed to get the plaxo widget to open from flash without a popup, u knw like an iframe on the page?
