View Full Version : Import from Outlook not able to see all contacts

I'm using Outlook 2007 to test this. I connect to my Outlook address book, and it only shows 5 of my 199 contacts. I have checked, and well over 5 have email addresses. I have checked for other contact lists in Outlook, and don't have any.
I also can't find any common denominators for the contacts that show up and those that don't.
Any ideas?

Hi Rkcrawf,
We weren't able to reproduce it here. Would you send me the Plaxo account name you're having a problem with in a private message and we'll check against that?

Hi, it's not an issue with the Plaxo import... It is an issue with importing from Outlook 2003 and 2007. The widget doing the Plaxo import shows all the contacts in a plaxo account. The widget doing the import from Outlook only shows a (seemingly) random subsection of contacts.
It's the same symptoms as described on this post: http://forum.plaxo.com/showthread.php?t=3309&highlight=widget

Hi Rkcrawf -
Are you saying it is involved with the Windows Live ID or just that the symptoms are the same?
I wanted your account info so that we could take a look at those same contacts in Outlook... if it's not a Plaxo member, even sending us a csv of some of the working and non-working contacts would be helpful for us to debug it.
Thanks,
Kathy

Thanks for sending the csv file.
I tried it through www.plaxo.com/api/widget_demo using IE7 on Window XP.
I get 173 contacts initially, then the widget drops to 123. If I examine the csv file by hand, there are 124 email addresses, but one of the entries is a duplicate - so it matches the widget on unique email addresses.
So it is looking good to me. Would you try it again?
Thanks,
Kathy
