I get a sync error whenever I try to sync a second (or third) sync point on my other computers with Outlook.

The diagnostic log collects this error.

Hello,

Are you trying the have 2 or 3 outlook sync-points? or you have one outlook sync-point and trying to establish different sync-points like Y!, MSN or other?

Thanks,
Ramesh

I have three computers that use outlook 2003. I'm trying to share a common address book using plaxo, like I have with the 2.0 version.

Hi, can you send an e-mail to bryan-previewsupport (at plaxo.com) and attach your plaxo.log file? If you go to Plaxo, Options, Privacy tab, there should be a link to explore the plaxo.log folder - just drag the plaxo.log text file into the e-mail. Thanks!

w/ 2.0 i used to sync my home and work outlooks. w/ 3.0 i set up my home outlook, which worked, then i set up my work outlook the next day and my home outlook began crashing. it would close unexpectedly, or i'd get an "instruction at 0x2423353 (for example) cannot be read" (or some error along those lines), or i'd get a C++ error. in the end i disabled the toolbar at home and outlook acts normally. i am also successfully syncing my work outlook and Yahoo.

can i send you a log w/o running the toolbar? where can i find it on my computer? the problem is that my home outlook won't run long enough for me to do anything.

thanks very much for the help.

I might be hitting the same problem. See http://forums.plaxo.com/showthread.php?t=3429

My Outlook started closing on its own as well last night. I have only sync'd Yahoo (2 user names) and Outlook 2003 on 1 computer.

Is there any information I can give you without being able to open Outlook?

Another hand raised, although it may be a different flaw. Outlook 1 (2007) works fine; Outlook 2 (2003) installs OK, but Outlook bombs out with a runtime error when Plaxo starts. Disable Plaxo, and Outlook runs fine.

Using the latest (3.2.1.65.)

Sending this to Feedback as well.

Add another to the list.
The first PC is running Windows XP and Outlook 2000 SP3 and is syncing successfully.

The next one I installed is Windows Visat and Outlook 2003.
When I sync with the second one I get a Sync Error. No other message.
You briefly see %s flash by as it tries to sync and it generates the error at 48% consistantly.

In my case, Outlook is not crashing, simply not completing the synchronization.

It would be helpful if you all send your error logs to Bryan using the instructions posted above. It's hard to debug the issue without the logs. Thanks!

This is still a problem in the Outlook add-in released today

Thank you for the warning, pd. I hope it gets fixed soon! There are other more serious bugs, as I've found. See this thread (http://forum.plaxo.com/showthread.php?t=3460) to see what I mean.

Has this been finally fixed? Not being able to sync both my computers makes Plaxo 3 rather worthless to me.

I would love to know about the status of many of the bugs in the program. (in progress, fix delayed, etc.) It seems to me that the Plaxo team just takes our bugs and hides in their computer labs. I've sent several PM's/e-mails to Bryan and the support team asking for them to inform us of the status of our submitted bugs.. The only bad thing about being involved in a program like this is the lack of communication. I understand that bugs are a part of being involved in furthering modern technological advances. However, that's not to say that we should be ill-informed about about the progress of our bug-submissions. I, for one, would love for the Plaxo team to show the community the results of all their hard work! In fact, it'll make us more imparted to the cause, don't you agree, Plaxo?

Hey, folks - the problems with sync simply failing should be fixed now with the 3.2.2 version of the Plaxo Toolbar for Outlook/OE. If you are still seeing problems with this version, you can use the feedback link at preview.plaxo.com (near the upper-right) to report the problem. That's hooked up to a better system for tracking these issues than this forum. Thanks!

Your reply seems kind of moot, Bryan. The issue is not with the bug, per se, but rather with the feedback to the community. One can assume that the bugs are being submitted by at least one other of the 1000 or so beta testers. (This wouldn't necessarily make them right, though.) So just make sure you're submitting your bugs correctly, beta testers!

I think it would suffice to say that we, as a community, would like to have more feedback from you. Plaxo certainly relies upon its community for the same said consideration, so why shouldn't a little reciprocity be in order? In deed, where would this new version's progress be without the feedback of its users? All we want is a little return consideration, and I'll tell you, once every two weeks doesn't cut it, Mr. McCrea.
