Hello there,
Plaxo 3.0 has the same problem earlier version had. It cannot deal intelligently with proxy settings. My company`s network requires a user to authenticate every time he needs to go to the internet. Since there is no way to input the proxy address on plaxo 3.0 setup, the application always think I`m not connected to the internet.
When using early versions of Plaxo, I found a workaround, witch was from plaxo menu on Outlook go to Help, and since help send an HTTP request, i can authenticate, and then login to plaxo and sync my contacts.
This problem still persists on the new version.
Would n`t be better if plaxo, after understanding that there was no connection, asked about a proxy configuration?
It would help people who has no idea of what a proxy is to understand that it`s not Plaxo that is crap, but network security policy that needs to be followed...

Best regards,

Vini

Hi Vini,
I am currently looking at some proxy issues with our Outlook toolbar. Is it possible that you can send me your plaxo.log file? The easiest way to do that is, in Outlook, go to the "Plaxo" menu, select "Options", click the "Privacy" tab, and finally click the "Explore log folder" link. That should open the folder containing the plaxo.log file. Can you attach that file and email it to michael@plaxo.com?
Thanks,
Michael

Same Problem here... large corporate environment with proxy authorisation, though the workaround with "help" from the menu doesn't work for me, it just opens the help page in my browser (which is *not* IE). So I even couldn't finish the initialisation of Plaxo.

We believe this issue should now be fixed with the latest Outlook toolbar release. Which version of the toolbar are you using?

If you are using something earlier than 3.2.4, you can try installing this new version. (Note if you are currently using a 2.x version this 3.x version is still beta so PLEASE backup your Contacts, Calendar, Tasks and Notes before upgrading).

The latest 3.x clients can be downloaded from the sync dashboard on Plaxo Online or from http://down.plaxo.com/down2/outlook/latest/PlaxoInstall_en_us.exe.

still the same... I uninstalled my german version and installed this one.

[PLAXO 06/26 13:32:44 0x0734 L3] Sending Server API Request CreateClientInfo
[PLAXO 06/26 13:32:44 0x0734 L4] HttpWrapper send failed: last error is 12019.
[PLAXO 06/26 13:32:44 0x0734 L4] [HttpWrapper::send_] failed with res -1.
[PLAXO 06/26 13:32:44 0x05e4 L4] [SetupStartDlg::OnNext] [HttpTask::TransportErrorImpl] Transport error: -1

what indicates to me, that proxy access doesn't work at all is, I don't get asked for username/password....

I have the same issues, and am using 3.2.4.10.

If I click on Options, I get taken to the setup wizard, but then get advised the Plaxo network can not be accessed...
