I know that Plaxo started out as a great productivity tool to help individuals organize and backup their personal rolodex. Including the calendar, tasks, and notes as part of the sync was a pretty easy step.
This new version (v3.0) has the wonderful addition of better management of multiple sync points...great for the individual who has their contact and calendars in multiple locations (Google, Yahoo, Outlook, phone, etc.).
My question is how to aggregrate multiple family members into a common view. My wife & son have their own rolodex, and I have mine. They have their own calendars, and I have mine. Yet we share many of the same contacts and share the same appointments on the calendar (i.e. baseball practice).
Is there a manner in which we could all three keep our common/shared contacts in sync?
Is there a manner in which we could all three keep our common/shared appointments in sync on our individual calendars?
We as a family can agree on some best practices as a means to help faciliate this so that any appointment we individually create would have the right flags (i.e. Outlook Categories and Labels) to properly indicate what to do during the synchronization process.
What I haven't seen from v3.x yet is how multiple Plaxo users could sync specific elements (this contact or that appointment) with a specified (family) list. The concept would also need to incorporate Categories and Labels as part of the advanced sync options.
Thanks for listening!
Would love something easier for consolidating the family calendar...
