I have attached Fiddler to my Browser (I am a develper by trade) and am noticing that plaxo is generating a very large amount of trafic accoss the network when all browsers are closed. I assume the Outlook scycronization component is talking to plaxo, however why so much trafic? I am seeing several requests generated to san.plaxo.com:8080 per second. This may be more of a developer question, but I wanted to see if others noticed a lot of trafic using Outlook and plaxo (3). BTW I am behind a firewall, perhaps 8080 is blocked, plaxo is contiously attempting to get through? VERY BAD.

Hi, this is a known issue and should have been addressed in the latest Outlook 3.2.4.x toolbar. Basically, when Outlook toolbar sends a request to san.plaxo.com:8080, the server may not return any data except the HTTP header initially. Fiddler (and possibly some other proxies) will close the connection immediately upon receiving the HTTP header. The older toolbar's backoff and retry mechanism does not consider this case and will reconnect immediately, causing requests to be sent continuously. Please download the latest toolbar and email me at michael@plaxo.com if your problem still exist. Sorry for any inconvenience.
