Do I need to run Windows Mail for contacts sync to happen?

Just like the title asks. :)

I'm using Gmail as my main mail account, but I've set up Plaxo to work with Windows Mail so I can sync my contacts on my local machine. Do I need to open the app once in a while to make the contacts sync happen, or will the sync happen without me having to open Windows Mail?

Yes, the Plaxo application is tied to Windows Mail, so you do need to actually run Windows Mail once in a while for several minutes in order for the sync to happen.

Is there any talk of a background sync where plaxohelper_ex.exe or something similar syncs contacts automatically?
