I like being able to see a preview of my contacts in Outlook but HATE (did you get that?) H*A*T*E the new "invite to pulse" link. Is there a way to go back to the old Outlook toolbar? Does anyone have a copy?

Help! I was a happy Plaxo-nifier and now... not so much. :(

Never mind. I found an older version of Plaxo on the web and got rid of that awful "Invite to Pulse" button and got back the previous contact button in its place. Whew! Plaxo almost lost a loyal user.

Where did you find a link to the old Plaxo? How to get rid of the new one? I hate it too

I have had several conversations with support on this issue. The loss of the update functionality is the worst business decision a company has ever made. This is the one feature that made Plaxo worth using and is the reason that I upgraded my account.

I am not using their tool any longer and will not renew my service as they are not planning on reconsidering their decision to remove this functionality.

Where did you find the previous version online?

This has really confused me, and now I suddenly see that contacts are no longer synked??

Come on!?

The only reason I got Plaxo a couple of years ago was to get contact updates automatically. Is this really removed!?

The "social networking" and Pulse is really no value add for me. I use LinkedIn and such for that stuff.

Hmm, not sure where that information came from, but contacts are still synced. There is no plan to remove this functionality. Also your contacts will still be updated when a Plaxo member updates their information.

I believe there is a plan to phase out the "update request" feature (basically sending e-mail to non-Plaxo-members requesting them to update their information). However it is still there in the current versions of the toolbar - from a contact in Outlook there is a link on the right-hand side to send an update request.

It took a little thinking, but I figured out how to get rid of the annoying "Invite to Pulse" button that was showing up in every single email message in my Outlook - I had to go into Options and un-check the "Show Plaxo "Click To Connect" on E-Mail Messages" setting.

Hey, Do u still have the link to Plaxo 2.0 download?
I'd like to uninstall Plaxo 3.0 and install 2.0 to get back the Contacts button.

Thanks,
Anukul

I just downloaded it for my part-time job, and was dismayed to see that it doesn't look the same as the paid (or older, more likely) version of what I have at home.

Hopefully this helps those that want an older version:

I uninstalled the new version and installed the 2.0 version w/no problems. :)

Is there a way that the button could tell us that they are already members right on the button?
