So I tried to search on this issue but had no luck as i wasn't sure arguments to use.

The problem is that i have a few laptops i rarely use - or at least online when Outlook is running. Both have outlook 2003 and the plaxo plugin. I use and change my PIM data continuously on my two desktops and sync to my treo with no trouble. The problem is when i boot up the laptop and sync (let's say it has been 3 months). Data gets duplicated, notes get named with (1)'s added to them, etc. Basically it seems the PIM data has changed too much. My best solution is to boot up the laptop, load outlook with no internet connection, disable plaxo sync, delete all of the PIM data, and then enable sync. Is there an easer way?

Anyone else have this issue?

If your infrequently used laptop was in sync with Plaxo 3 months ago, as long as nothing drastic has happened with your data on Plaxo online (like it's been all deleted and replaced), the sync should work fine as it remembers which items are which. So even if the entire contents of the Notes item has changed, it will still know which item it corresponds to and will sync the changes.

If however you end up resyncing the data, which will happen if you uninstall and reinstall or if you remap your folders, it can then no longer maintain that link and so it will do its best to merge both sets of data. If there have been a lot of changes, it will be safe and keep both copies.

In this case, what you suggest is close to what you want to do - a safer way is to uninstall Plaxo, then delete the old data from Outlook, then reinstall Plaxo.
