I am going to stop using my Desktop-XP Pro machine with Outlook 2003 and will use only my new Notebook PC w/Vista and Outlook 2007. I additionaly use a PDA with KeySuite. KeySuite also does Synchronization also but includes just about every field in Outlook and also syncs the links between contacts and appointments. For this reason I decided to first sync my device with the new Notebook using KeySuite.

Now that I have "copied" all my information to the new PC I want to install and start using Plaxo online so that my office help (that also syncs to OR views Plaxo online) will be up to date. However I am afraid that If I install and start using Plaxo with the same account, I may end up with duplicates of everything.

Is my fear unfounded? Should I simply create a new account? What procedure would gove the smoothest crossover?

TIA

If the information on Plaxo Online and your new PC are eseentially the same, there should be no duplicates created. However, if there is one system that you'd like to use as the "source of truth", you could first remove the data on one side.

For example, if you wish to use the new PC as the "source of truth", you could first go to Plaxo Online and remove all the sync endpoints - this is important, otherwise the deletes from Plaxo Online will be propagated to all your sync endpoints. Once the sync endpoints are removed, you can remove all your Plaxo Online data (if you click the p icon at the lower left, you can Manage Folders and remove folders), then install Plaxo on your new PC - the data from the new PC should be uploaded to Plaxo Online.
