Whenever I open outlook, the hard drive and CPU become so busy I am almost unable to use the program. I have disabled auto sync, uninstalled and reinstalled, etc to no avail. The Plaxo log is available to send, but I cant attach. Can anyone assist?

Good luck trying to get help. It seems to be a wide spread issue. I'm a premium member and support has yet to respond to my inquiries. Hope they resolve this soon as I am seriously considering canceling my membership. Makes Plaxo useless if I can't use it with Outlook.

We have a 4 hour response time on Premium support emails and none (as of late) have past 24 hours in total response. Where are you sending your emails to? And if you are using the webform, there's is a confirmation page that you must go through - did you do that?

Did you get an autoresponse acknowledging that we received your email?

As for the high CPU usage... here are some diagnostics to try:

1. If you disable Plaxo, is the CPU usage still high?
2. Is Outlook connected to Exchange?
3. If not on Exchange, then you must be using a PST file - how big?
4. If on Exchange, then you might have an OST file - how big?
5. Do you have an anti-virus checker, anti-spam checker or any other add-on? If you disable it, how does Outlook perform?

Feel free to ping me directly (redgee at plaxo dot com) so we can diagnose further. Thanks.

Used the web form twice over a week ago and yes I continued until it said "Thank You! Your question has been submitted. If you are a Plaxo Premium subscriber, expect a response in 24 hours or less. All other Plaxo members can expect a response in under 48 hours."

No I never received an auto response after submitting to premium support, or I wouldn't have mentioned it n the first place. I just sent a blank support request again so we'll see what happens. Thanks.

PM sent. When Plaxo is disabled(in add-on manager), CPU usage returns to normal immediately and Outlook performs as normal. In addition, I have noted tat the "personal folders" have to "be checked" at each startup of outlook.

Thanks for your assistance.

If Plaxo add on needs to be disabled then Plaxo is basically useless. I'll be working with support this evening and hopefully this will be resolved soon.

Thanks for working on this....Any progress?

Love the program, but cant see upgrading if its going to cause these problems.

No and it's killing me. I meant to email the engineer who I worked with and find out if any progress has been made. Thanks to your post it reminded me to do so. Will keep you posted.

Hey folks - sorry for the delay.

A quick status update - we've worked with several customers and it looks like there may actually be several different things going on here. The developers think they've tracked down one of the issues we were running into - Outlook locking up temporarily during a sync - and the next release should have improved performance for this particular issue. This version should be ready in a couple weeks.

Hopefully this will reduce the problem for most people, but since there seem to be several issues going on we'll continue investigating and keep our eyes open for other problems.

If anyone would like to try a pre-release version of the fix, you can contact me via e-mail at bryan-forum (yup, at plaxo.com).

I installed the update and things are MUCH better. I no longer get the "repair of Outlook folders" upon startup and the CPU issue is much better as well. Thanks for staying on this until a solution was found.
