I've been using Plaxo for about two years to sync address books between my work computer and a Mac at home with no problems. I recently got a new laptop to replace my old one at work running Windows and Outlook.

I attempted to load Plaxo and sync. every thing a few nights ago. At the time, I had ~350 contacts loaded in Outlook and close to the same on the Mac. When I sync'd, Plaxo proceeded to delete all except for 29 random contacts on the website and my Mac, but kept everything in Outlook.

I've tried resync'ing to no avail. I also deactivated both computers, deleted the Plaxo On-line address folders, re-loaded Plaxo and received the same result. Only 29 of the 350 contacts sync to the website.

Any ideas????

I did notice the website acting weird when I first tried to sync a few days ago - the number of contacts was oscillating between 140 and 290 and ultimately settled on 29. The next morning the site was down, but I have no way of knowing if there is any connection.

Thanks for any help!

David

Hi

I am having the same issue here. I have been using Plaxo to sync between my Laptop and desktop for a few years.

I just got a new laptop and after installing and syncing I have lost all but 26 contacts on my desktop, I only have 3 contacts online and my laptop now has ~250 duped contacts.

I have tried re-syncing to no avail.

If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

I have the same problem.

I have at least one contact in my outlook contacts list who will just not sync with Plaxo. I've tried deleted the plaxo folder and syncing to a new one and it just does not appear.

The outlook sync is definitely buggy.

I've also found that Contacts created in Outlook from Plaxo via another Outlook computer (so sync computer A -> Plaxo -> computer B). On computer B the contacts are not displayed properly in the "Business Cards" view. The card can be fixed if you edit it and enter a space in the company name (or another field) then save the contact. Then it displays properly (and, in fact, you can delete the space afterwards).

Perhaps there is a similar problem which is stopping some contacts from synching. I have tried editing my contact and saving him, but plaxo refuses to recognise him.

Come on Plaxo! Outlook sync is all you have got over Facebook and the others; if this doesn't work, you are nowhere.

Hurray, the latest update fixes the problem!

I like Plaxo again. Well done - I'd have to wait years if it was Microsoft.

I do have backups of my data, but this is a serious issue for a program that handles people's Outlook Data. I know, at least for me, EVERYTHING I do is kept in my Outlook Data Files. Very frustrating for a program to treat it so Nonchalantly...

Has there been any resolution to this? My contacts have not been synching correctly now for several weeks. Thought it was first an issue with the Online service but it seems to be specifically the Outlook contact syncing. Keep getting duplicates of all contacts in Outlook. The contacts in Plaxo are fine. When I remove the duplicates from Outlook, all of the contacts are removed from Plaxo.

My synch problems started a month or so ago. Small problems in the beginning. Then it got worse. It is almost funny.
Recently it has been creating contact duplicates, or deleting a hundred or so a little at random.
Online, I seem not be able to get above 30 contacts since a while. On my home synch point I had duplicates of all my contacts (300 or so) yesterday. On my work computor, Plaxo wiped out most of my contacts today.
All this suddenly after years of reliable synch. It was so good for so long. What happened?

Obviously something is very wrong with Plaxo right now. New computer and I am now getting a sync error. Sent messages to Plaxo and they are not responding. No number to call and no web support? Great business model.

Just got an email that they are aware of the issue and working on it. No time frame was included
