If you are reformatting your hard drive and you have already synchronized with Plaxo Online you should not have to take any steps to save your Plaxo data, per se. You can't save your current configuration and restore it to your newly set up hard drive. You'll need to re-install the client sync software and then set up a new sync point. You can then sync anew with Plaxo Online which will bring any online information down to your new hard drive.

Though not really necessary, it would probably be a good idea to uninstall your current Plaxo client software before starting your reformatting job.

If you have any concern over contact data being deleted on Plaxo Online when you reformat your hard drive, either disable sync in the Plaxo preference on your computer or just uninstall the Plaxo sync software before you do the reformat.

I made the mistake of dragging Plaxo folder to trash can on my Mac OSX to uninstall it. The address book add-in remain. How can I get it off my system. Thanks.

The Plaxo folder contains the Uninstall application that we provide to clear Plaxo from your Mac, if you want.

You really should just re-install PfM (takes 30 seconds) and then use the provided Uninstaller.
