Hi all,
I've just started using Plaxo again because of the Thunderbird extension, and I've run into a problem. I use Thunderbird for e-mail, but use Outlook for contacts & appointments - so I can sync with my Pocket PC (via ActiveSync). I'm running Outlook 2000 on Win XP Home. I installed Plaxo 2 toolbar for Outlook yesterday, and was able to sync my contacts, etc., with Plaxo online. I could also sync my Thunderbird address book. All good so far. However... The Plaxo toolbar for Outlook causes a conflict with ActiveSync, and I could no longer sync appointments to my Pocket PC. So today, Plaxo toolbar for Outlook uninstalled again - can again sync to Pocket PC. Is anyone else having problems with Outlook 2000 & Plaxo and syncing with their Pocket PC? If so, have you found a fix/workaround? With thanks, Jessica |

I have the same setup as you, except that I am using outlook 2003 instead of outlook 2000 and a windows mobile smartphone instead of a pocket pc. I have experienced that activesync is not very stable and randomly gives conflict errors. Try installing the outlook toolbar from plaxo, restart the pocket pc and perform the sync again. Usually if I restart the phone I get activesync to sync without the conflicts. Does not happen very often but I think its an activesync problem that seemed to coincedentaly happen while you had the outlook toolbar.

Hi Payam,
Thanks for your reply, but I've had ActiveSync installed and working fine for almost a year without any similar problems. When I intalled the Plaxo toolbar, I had the problem described. Since uninstalling the Plaxo toolbar, ActiveSync is perfectly stable again. I don't think it's just coincidental at all. Cheers, Jessica |

Hi Crystal,
What version of ActiveSync are you using? I think the latest version is 3.8, you can download it at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...ivesync38.mspx Thanks! Mark |

Crystal,
I'm using Outlook 2003, Plaxo, and Activesync 3.711, and it's syncing just fine. Is Activesync refusing to connect at all? Or are certain data not syncing when it does connect? Are you getting any error messages? |
