Default I delete the installstub.exe entry, but it returns

I'm experiencing the hanging installstub when trying to shutdown my computer.

So I followed the advice on the forum to delete the instalestub process from the registry, that it does not run automatically, but this doesn't apperar to last.. the entry eseem to get added big somehow. Anybody else experience this? what's the deal?

This key will be put back in the registry if you re-run the installation. Otherwise it should not reappear. I believe there was one instance where someone's anti-spyware program was placing the key back in the registry for some reason - you might check that as well.

have you tried to disable it using the msconfig command?

Start - Run - type msconfig - press ok

press the startup tab

make sure that the check to the side of installstub.exe is not checked. If it is, uncheck it. Restart your computer, and see if its still there when you reboot.
