I'm using Plaxo for Outlook (2000) as well as Plaxo online.
The birthday year is not carried over to or from Outlook, and this causes some headache! Any workaround or solution planned? regards |

Hi Johan,
I am using Plaxo for quite some time now. I found that Plaxo does take Birthday year from Outlook or Outlook Express to Online account. But there is no option to enter Birthyear in Plaxo Cards because this information is considered personel and Plaxo doesn't interfear with any Individuals Personel Life. You can yourself enter the birthyear to your contacts in Plaxo Online account by : Double Clicking the contact to open the contacts information card and then you can select the birthyear from the 'dropdown menu'. After selecting the year save the card and close it. The other easy way is to send a personalised message to your contacts while sending Update request to add their birthyears in the information that they provide you. I hope this can be of any help to you. regards, Silas. If a contact of your's is a Plaxo member and is connected with you then you will always have his current information as entered by him/her in their Plaxo Cards ( Personal Card and Bussiness |

Oddly enough, if you are using Outlook and you have Outlook automatically creating calendar events for birthdays and anniversaries, the year of the birthdates and wedding anniversaries DOES show in your calendar on Plaxo.
Yet the contact data does not. So I guess the programmers missed that little bit of personal privacy! |

Silas - you are correct that you can enter in a contacts Birthyear in the manner you described. Unfortunately, contacts are unable to specify their birthyear when responding to an Update Request due to COPPA requirements.
