I been using Plaxo for over a year now, and it has become one of my most valued tools- Thank you for such a wonderful product.
At this time I don't have a need for any of the available premium services, but I'd like to suggest one that I would gladly pay for: a personal mail folder. I don't think it is necessary to provide mail services (e.g. send/receive), but the ability to sync items in my email folders would be enough. I use Plaxo to sync between computers at home, work, school, and my parents' house. I'm glad my calendars and contacts are always in sync, but I lose track of email threads and messages a lot... Would anyone else find this useful? Does anyone have a workaround? Thanks again for all your efforts! |

I agree with you. I just lost all of my email info because my computer crashed. Thanks to Plaxo I did not lose my contacts, etc. but unless someone out there knows how to retreive emails and saved folders in outlook I am cooked. I hope Plaxo considers this as an update or option to purchase because it is a much needed benefit.

Certainly worth considering as a premium feature. Thanks for the suggestion. Sorry we were only able to help restore your contacts, notes, calendar, and task folders at this point though.

Hey ya'll,
The solution you're seeking is IMAP e-mail. IMAP is an e-mail protocol that is more powerful than POP3. Basically, it lets you keep your e-mails synched between your desktop e-mail program (Outlook, Eudora, Outlook Express, Thunderbird--I think, etc.) and the e-mail server. It basically works similar to Plaxo. If you delete a message via webmail it will be marked as deleted on your desktop program. If you reply to an e-mail from your laptop Outlook it will be marked as replied to on your desktop Outlook. I highly recommend the following two services for IMAP e-mail. I am a paid user of both. http://www.fastmail.fm - for personal e-mail http://www.webmail.us - for business or family e-mail (like if you want a group of people on the same domain name) Another good company that I don't use but has an excellent reputation is http://www.runbox.com. They have plans for personal as well as business/family users. If you have any questions, post them or send me a PM. I use Outlook for my e-mail program on my desktop and my laptop. All of my e-mail is kept in synch because I use IMAP and my contacts, notes, task lists, and calendars are kept in synch via Plaxo. And I can access it all from work via webmail and Plaxo online. It's like a dream come true! |
